Why choose SolarEdge Home Smart Energy Ecosystem?
By adding energy storage to a new or existing SolarEdge installation, your customers can now flexibly choose how and when to use their solar energy. With backup power, this flexibility is extended to a power outage event, providing them with energy security and full peace of mind.
As the foundation of the SolarEdge Home ecosystem, all three products are designed to operate together enabling solar power to flow 24/7 and providing you with a complete single-vendor solution. From one software suite and set of warranties to a single source for service, training, and support, there is no need to divide your energy among numerous vendors.
Read on to discover the main benefits of our new three phase solution.
Turn up the power with the SolarEdge Home Hub Inverter
Wouldn’t you like to be able to offer your customers an inverter that meets every home energy demand? The new SolarEdge Home Hub Inverter – Three Phase makes producing more energy effortless while adding resilience and minimizing electricity bills. As the brains of the system, the inverter is designed to manage PV, storage, smart energy devices and EV charging applications.
Consistent high solar production
Together with SolarEdge Power Optimizers, our fixed voltage DC inverter ensures operation at the highest efficiency, independent of string length and temperature. Using Maximum Power Point Tracking algorithms, our Power Optimizers maximize the amount of power each module produces, regardless of the performance of other modules in the string. This mitigates power loss due to module mismatch resulting from shading, soiling and other factors.
Up to 200% DC oversizing
The best you can do for your customers and their property is to help them generate as much power from the sun as possible from every minute of daylight.
Oversizing occurs when the maximum solar energy that can be produced from the PV system is greater than the system’s inverter rating. With up to 200% DC oversizing, your customers can add more solar modules to their rooftop to generate more power using the same inverter, without significant energy waste.
When paired with our new SolarEdge Home Battery - Low Voltage, the excess solar power that exceeds the inverter rating can be re-directed to charge an EV charger, a water heating system, and more. This makes any installation virtually future-proof, allowing your customers to expand their system by adding new devices and features as their energy needs grow.
Embedded system safety and swift installation
That’s a lot of energy produced so what about safety? To protect your solar installations, SolarEdge system safety includes an automatic shutdown mechanism with SafeDC™, Sense Connect, temperature control, alerts and other features designed to reduce the risks associated with electrocution and fire.
Home solar installations are now also cleaner and easier with the inverter built-in connection to our SolarEdge Home Network, wirelessly communicating with the entire SolarEdge Home system. You can also seamlessly commission the inverter directly from a smartphone using the SolarEdge SetApp.
Deliver true energy security with the SolarEdge Home Battery
Your customers will love the freedom they have to choose how and when to use their solar energy with the new SolarEdge Home Battery - Low Voltage. With 4.6kWh of storage, any unused solar energy can be stored in the battery and saved for later. Homeowners can save power for peak demand periods, enjoy backup power during grid failure, and have true energy security.
With our DC-coupled storage system, you can even save on energy conversions. Imagine, for example, that you need to convert money when traveling abroad. Each time you make an exchange, you lose some of the money’s value due to an unfavorable exchange rate. The same happens with an AC-coupled storage system in which the DC energy from the PV modules is converted to AC and then back to DC when stored in the battery, then back again to AC for home use - causing unnecessary energy losses.
In the SolarEdge DC-coupled storage system, there’s no need for this extra conversion. The energy is converted only once, making the whole process much more energy-efficient and enabling your customers to back up more loads for longer periods of time.
A safe, future-ready solution
For increased grid independence and savings, you can offer homeowners multiple three phase batteries per inverter, providing up to 23 kWh of backup power. They can start with one and add more batteries as their energy needs grow.
Our future-ready storage system is also “safety-first” designed to prevent battery overcharging and overheating. With a built-in array of multi-point temperature sensors to mitigate the risk of battery overheating and continuous monitoring of battery current and voltage, the battery is protected at all times.
Plug-n-play
You can install the battery indoors or outdoors and then automatically configure it with SolarEdge SetApp. If you’re installing multiple battery modules, you can mount them in a tower and then safely attach them to the wall. The battery also seamlessly integrates with the complete SolarEdge Home ecosystem for streamlined logistics and operations.
Provide energy flexibility with the SolarEdge Home Backup Interface
In the event of grid interruption, provide your customers with backup power for either full or partial home loads. When the grid is down, the new SolarEdge Home Backup Interface - Three Phase keeps the solar power flowing throughout the home and automatically prevents power from continuing to flow to the grid.
Homeowners can now enjoy full flexibility in deciding which household loads to backup and in what preferential order*. When receiving an outage alert from our system, they can prepare for a backup event by configuring their backup reserves. And, during an outage, they can manage power flow intelligently by choosing which loads to power while avoiding overloading the system.
